Chat/Inbox Messaging Update

Dear Members,

Over the past month we have made some large updates to our site with a strong motivation to disable spammer and scammers and improve our member's experience while online.

Part of these improvements has been to combine the chat and inbox messaging features;

So what has changed?

  • Now you will see there is no longer a separate chat and message icon on profiles, there is a single envelope icon to communicate with members.

  • If you are messaging a member who is online a chat box will appear as normal in the bottom right hand corner, and you are able to have an instant conversation.

  • If you are messaging a member who is offline the regular message box will appear to type a message to send.

Same button, different result depending if the member is online or offline.

  • Now your instant chat messages will also be stored in your inbox.

  • When you receive any message while you are online it will appear in a chat box in the lower right corner.

As always if you are online and want to disable instant messages, use the cog icon in the bottom right corner and select "go offline', as shown the below photo.

  • Andy_BlackRabbito: hmmmm...time lag is big issue. Thinking that other is not responding you may logout before the message comes in your inbox. I don't do RP here but it will be really frustrating for them.
  • Martazorra: El chat es ahora mucho mas lento, amigos conectados no aparecen disponibles para chat y no tiene + para añadir a mas personas a una conversación, en mi opinión el nuevo sistema funciona mucho peor.

  • Support: Are you using a mobile device Horny_01? The right hand menu referred to is on the desktop version.

  • Blueliner88: Constructive feedback? It doesn't work. It sucks. It's frustrating. Why am I paying for this? The spammers and scammers are annoying, but all it takes is a couple of clicks to delete their message and block them. I'd much rather do that then continue to put up with this horrendous "fix".
  • Horny_01: Yes i am using moble device. Please post instructions on the new chat window on mobile devices. As all i get to pop up is the email message window.
  • Support: Horny_01, The chat and message button is the same. If the person is online it will be sent to them as a chat (as well as being delivered to their inbox) and if the person is offline it will be delivered to their inbox only. Hope this helps.
  • Horny_01: Thank you for the explination. Just a couple more questions. Is there a way you can bring back to show what friends are online (like the old chat system had) right now there is no way to tell uf people in my friends list are online and that was about the best thing with your old chat system. Also why deliver it to both inbox and chat?. Now we can be accussed of digital stalking.
  • Horny_01: Just an FYI: the chat part of mobile devices is nit working. It inly sends to email. Please fix.
