What is PHISHING?

Phishing is the act of attempting to collect personal information (such as passwords and credit card details) by assuming a company's identity (such as Fuckbook.com) in an official-looking email, instant messages, etc.

The user is provided usually within an email that takes the recipient to a fake webpage appearing to be that of a trustworthy company. When the user enters his personal information on the fake page, it is then captured by the fraudster. A message used for phishing purposes often asks the recipient to "verify your account" or to "confirm billing information".

Its hard to avoid Phishing Scammers while online so how can you prevent becoming victim to one?

The most effective way of avoiding this type of scam is to not give others any personal identifiable information (eg. email, facebook, phone number, full name, address etc).

How to recognize a scammer

Did you just meet a model who asks for your contact information before she knows more than two things about you? Did you just receive a message from a gorgeous looking female who just happens to be in the same town as you and wants to fuck tonight without asking your name?

Practice caution. Be wise. Build trust slowly. Stay safe.
